Revenue driven, Nick Patmore, Hotel Manager at JW Marriott Marquis, heads up an F&B team of 538 number of people that successfully operates 15 restaurants and bars.

Nick has been an integral part of the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai for the last seven years and has made a significant impact to the overall operations of the hotel. He has detailed knowledge of F&B and Rooms, which will remain a key focus going forward.  In Nick’s role, he will oversee F&B, Culinary, Events, Engineering, Rooms, Spa, and Loss prevention, as well as leading some key projects and Brand initiatives.

The direct flight from Mexico to Dubai and the fact that Mexicans do not need a visa makes it more attractive to want to visit the destination, which is why JW Marriott Marquis, one of the tallest hotels in the world with its two iconic towers, and a privileged location, offers facilities for business travelers and MICE.

During the pandemic, business travel fell significantly, companies have had to update their travel policies, emphasize traveler care, learn about restrictions and border closures, ¿how did you overcome the closure due to the pandemic?

Increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols as per Marriott and local regulations.

Provided more In-room dining options as well as menus on QR codes.

Social distancing measures in public spaces.

As a quarantine hotel during the pandemic we managed to keep operating.

After 3 years of pandemic, how do you see the segment of the meetings industry?

Not the same levels as pre-pandemic but it has significantly increased in the last 2 years. The demand for meeting in person and bringing companies with offices across various locations is coming back.

Dubai has a strategic geographical location, for the MICE segment, ¿what facilities JW Marriott Marquis does it offer?

The hotel has two ballrooms and 32 flexible meeting romos, providing state-of-the-art venues and equipment for every agenda. While three stunning outdoor venues boast views over Downtown Dubai and the Dubai Water Canal.

International gastronomy is something that distinguishes JW Marriott Marquis, ¿what are your restaurants and specialties?

The hotel has an array of over 12 award-winning restaurants and lounges, offering distinctive dining experiences including Italian, Thai, Japanese and European to name a few.

Prime68 is Dubai’s premiere steakhouse, sourcing supreme quality ingredients from small farms committed to exceptional products. Small batch producers have been carefully selected for their artisan produce, cultivated with passion and consideration for the environment.

Izakaya is lively, funky and experiential, Izakaya is the Japanese word for Social Sushi and a great place to share food and fun with friends. ¿What lessons, challenges and opportunities does the COVID-19 pandemic bring to JW Marriott Marquis?

We have continued to implement a high standard of cleaning and hygiene standards. Dubai has become known as a safe haven to travel to with high standards of safety and security.

Known as "the city of the future", Dubai is the world's second most popular destination for tourists, according to Euromonitor International's Top 100 City Destinations Index 2022.

In 2022 Dubai registered 23.7 million arrivals, 89% more than in 2021, this growth is largely due to the recovery of the tourism sector & MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Congresses and Exhibitions) as well as Expo 2020 Dubai.

Mexico is Dubai's second largest trading partner in Latin America, after Brazil.

Dubai is the financial center for investment, trade and culture, due to its political stability, security, tolerance, cultural diversity – with more than 200 nationalities, competitive advantages and high standard of living in the emirate, all these factors make Dubai the attractive destination par excellence.
